Not your traditional vampire romance.

This was an interesting read! I found it hard to put down once I started. Which was in the middle of the night when I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. Finished it before I went back to sleep. I loved the play of time travel, vampires, witches, family, assumptions, and love/romance. This book was full of intrigue and some red herrings in my opinion, which made it that much more fun to read. I seriously recommend reading this book because it is not like most vampire romance books I have read. It was a true page turner. Enjoy the read!
MY NEW FAVORITE AUTHOR

I have purchased every book this author has written and must say that she has become one of my favorite authors. I enjoyed the way she was able to keep me guessing as to who was the good guy and who was the bad. I enjoy mostly all historical romances that is my style of book but i thought i would take a chance and WOW am i glad i did. It has every thing you would want in a good book romance, suspense, mystery, and of course the drama. I would say to anyone who is looking for a good book to give this author a try for you will not be disappointed in the least.
3 Star Review by Debbie Good but not brilliant **same worded review will appear on Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock blog, Goodreads, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble**
Jane travels back in time to save her beloved Duncan from being made into a vampire. But she arrives too late, and Duncan has already been turned. She finds herself in the middle of a complicated plot to see Duncan's downfall.
I liked the IDEA of this book, travelling back in time to save your vampire lover from being turned.
I just....sigh....didn't like Jane!
Well that's not entirely accurate. I did like her towards the beginning. It was after it all went to hell in a handbasket with...someone (spoilers!)...and those horrid things happened. It was Jane's reaction to those things, or rather, her lack thereof, that really got my back up! I can't go into details because that would be spoilers, but suffices to say, it was quite awful. But Jane's reaction to it all and what happened after was...insipid...at best.
Its written entirely from Jane's POV, in the first person. I would love to have heard from Duncan, even just once!
It moves at speed, like rocket speed in places. Blink and you missed something important. Speed readers would have to go back a time or two. I had to.
I loved that I didn't get who was behind it all! I was way off base with that one. Hence why I've filed it under crime/thriller. Also under darker/grittier, because of what happens to Jane.
All in all, a good book, just not a brilliant one.

This booked stared out a little slow but it did get much better. By the end of the book this turned into a quit good romance mixed with some paranormal quirks. The author did a nice job of mixing up the story line.

This book moved at a great pace and had many great twists and turns that made this such a good read. I enjoyed seeing how all the characters developed through out the story. This author has a great way of making the story capture your attention and imagination so you never want to put the book down. I wound up finishing this book in one sitting!! This is a complete page turner and you will not be disappointed.
Jane learns upon going back in time that she looks exactly like the woman Duncan was set to marry Margaret Jane,

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.
This book follows Jane a human with witch abilities who has traveled back in time to save her lover Duncan before he can be turned into a vampire. Though this book is romance it is definitely a mystery also. Jane learns upon going back in time that she looks exactly like the woman Duncan was set to marry Margaret Jane. Before they could be wed though he was attacked by a vampire and chose to fake his death and leave his life behind. Theres not much else I can say without spoilers so I will just say that the more you learn the less you actually know. The whole book I was sure I knew who was good and who was bad but I was definitely wrong. This author did a great job weaving this intricate web of lies, betrayl and secrets. Ive read a few of this authors books and she amazes me at the world she creates within her books. If you like alpha vampires and strong women who still need some saving you'll like this authors books. She really does create some amazing worlds in her books.
